Is it true that pee is good for the treatment of acne and also toothpaste?

I heard this too and when i was younger, I had an awful awful zit on my forehead. I used toothpaste and my it gave my skin a burnt effect which was very very noticable as well as the zit being bigger than usual. I told people I burnt my zit by falling asleep leaning against a hot lamp shade. Needless to say I never did it again..

Maya x|||Well i know pee has ammonia in it, so maybe that was once thought of to %26quot;cure%26quot; acne, but i would highly recommend that you DONT do that haha, as for the toothpaste, it (usually) has baking soda in it that helps reduce the size of pimples in some cases, but it can also leave your face red, dry, and irritated.|||Urine has been suggested for some issues when men were prisoners of war and had no access to anything else. For instance, it is said to help with athletes foot. There are better products that do not make you smell like urine. Toothpaste is another product that became popular in jails. I suggest you buy products. They have no sterile conditions and ingredients that cover more issues.|||Wow, I often review YAHOO! ANSWERS and when I saw this question and the plethora of stupid answers I finally broke down and created an email. Maybe it is just me, but if people have not researched the subject or do not have personal experience to answer the question, I DO NOT WANT TO READ THEIR OPINIONS! Well with that short rant out of the way鈥?br>

104 people on acne.org have rated urine therapy a 4.3 out of 5 in terms of how well it works.

Urine therapy has been practiced for thousands of years and has merely fallen a bit into obscurity in the last century. However, urine therapy may seem to be unorthodox and perhaps revolutionary, it does not introduce anything new or original. It has been known throughout the centuries both in the West and in the East.

If one has not researched the subject it is not surprising that this could be brushed off as an old wives tale in addition our society has lead us to believe that pee is a toxic bacterial filled waste product. So let鈥檚 answer the most common misconception. Urine is NOT a toxic waste product and this has been scientifically proven. 95% of urine is water, 2.5% consists of urea and the remaining 2.5% is a mixture of minerals, salt, hormones and enzymes. Toxic substances are being removed from the body through the liver and intestines, through the skin and through the outbreath. The main function of the kidneys is to keep the composition of the blood in optimal balance. When there is too much water, the kidneys will remove it. But that doesn%26#039;t make water into a toxic waste product.

In 1975, one of the founders of Miles Laboratories, Dr. A.H. Free, published his book Urinalysis in Clinical Laboratory Practice, in which he remarked that not only is urine a sterile body compound (purer than distilled water), but that %26quot;it is now recognized that urine contains thousands of compounds, and as new, more sensitive analytical tools evolve, it is quite certain that new constituents of urine will be recognized.%26quot; Among the urine constituents mentioned in Dr. Free%26#039;s revealing treatise is a list of nutrients that will knock your socks off. As Dr. Free comments, the ingredients listed below are only a few critical nutrients found in urine:

Alanine, total ..... 38 mg/day Arginine, total ..... 32 mg/day Ascorbic acid ..... 30 mg/day Allantoin ..... 12 mg/day Amino acids, total ..... 2.1 g/day Bicarbonate ..... 140 mg/day Biotin ..... 35 mg/day Calcium ..... 23 mg/day Creatinine ..... 1.4 mg/day Cystine ..... 120 mg/day Dopamine ..... 0.40 mg/day Epinephrine ..... 0.01 mg/day Folic acid ..... 4 mg/day Glucose ..... 100 mg/day Glutamic acid ..... 308 mg/day Glycine ..... 455 mg/day Inositol ..... 14 mg/day Iodine ..... 0.25 mg/day Iron ..... 0.5 mg/day Lysine, total ..... 56 mg/day Magnesium ..... 100 mg/day Manganese ..... 0.5 mg/day Methionine, total ..... 10 mg/day Nitrogen, total ..... 15 g/day Ornithine ..... 10 mg/day Pantothenic acid ..... 3 mg/day Phenylalanine ..... 21 mg/day Phosphorus, organic ..... 9 mg/day Potassium ..... 2.5 mg/day Proteins, total ..... 5 mg/day Riboflavin ..... 0.9 mg/day Tryptophan, total ..... 28 mg/day Tyrosine, total ..... 50 mg/day Urea ..... 24.5 mg/day Vitamin B6 ..... 100 mg/day Vitamin B12 ..... 0.03 mg/day Zinc ..... 1.4 mg/day

Babies have supple smooth skin. The amniotic fluid that surrounds the baby in the womb is similar in structure to urine. Urine itself is sterile. You can do short beauty treatment by applying your first mornings urine (mid-stream) to your face. Use a jumbo sized cotton ball and apply to your skin. Simply leave on for at least five minutes and rinse. This therapy will clear up acne, help fade age spots, and plumps wrinkles. This treatment will also make your skin glow without make up. If this therapy seems a bit too extreme for you, carefully read the ingredients on your favorite (often very high end) beauty products. You may find synthetic urea listed as an ingredients. Urine therapy is also free. This treatment works best when you are well hydrated and not eating too much sugar or highly processed foods.

On another interesting note Dr. Evagelos Danopouolos of Greece reported that urea found in urine has anti-cancerous properties. The urea seems to disrupt the ability of cancer cells to group together and kills them by upsetting some of their normal metabolic activities. Urine therapy has been used to treat cancers of the skin, cervix, lungs, eyes, breast, and liver.

-According to the book Miracles of Urine by Dr. S. K. Sharma there are many many many more things that can be accomplished with urine thearapy.
